Cork has honoured Izzedeen and Eman Alkarajeh, a Palestinian couple who spent a year in direct provision. The couple share the city’s Person of the Month award for October.
The Alkarajehs had to learn English after they arrived in Ireland four years ago, with their four children. After leaving DP, they started a food business and now run Izz’s Cafe on George’s Quay, Cork.
