The Trip of the Summer!
New Horizon and Birr Outdoor Education Centre would like to invite young people living in displaced persons accommodation in Athlone on an Adventure!
Birr Outdoor Education and Training Centre offers outdoor education courses to groups of people of all ages and abilities. They provide qualified instructors, activities and all necessary specialist equipment.
Land Activities include – Team Games, Night Line, Archery, Mountain Biking, Tag Archery, Rock Climbing and Abseiling.
Water Activities include – Canoeing, Kayaking and Gorge Walking.Check them out on https://www.birroec.ie/
Activities each day would look like this:
08:30 Bus pickup in Creggan Court, Bower Hall, Prince of Wales
09:30 Arrive Birr Outdoor Education Centre
10:00 Start day’s adventures, one land and one water based activity each day.
Lunch whenever you get hungry, bring your own packed lunch.
17:00 Finish for the day, change into dry clothes!
17:15 Bus home – Athlone at 18:15 or so.
Free of charge to all young people aged 12 to 18 who live in displaced persons accommodation in Athlone.
Wear old warm clothes- No Denims – Spare pair of old trainers to get wet
– Swim wear or shorts & t-shirt – Packed lunch if required
– Water – Towel – Rain jacket – Personal Medication (inhaler etc)
– Spending money (if required)
– Bag and a plastic bag for wet gear
